Educational landscapes
Education extends far beyond the school setting. Formal, non-formal and informal learning opportunities, and the stakeholders who shape the learning context, form a comprehensive landscape at the local and even regional level. The term “educational landscape” refers not only to the individual elements that make up the landscape, but also to their harmonious interplay, i.e. the coordination of interconnections between institutions, professions and concepts to promote the development of children and young people. Collaboration is a guiding theme within educational landscapes, even as numerous obstacles to it are becoming apparent.
