School quality

Quality of life within school

School quality is multidimensional. In addition to teaching and learning, education systems need to take into account the quality of life of pupils, stakeholders and partners in the school context. Through the notion of school climate, which refers to the quality of life at school, several dimensions can be addressed to frame the discussion on school quality. These dimensions include the development of social skills, educational practices, adherence to school-promoted norms and values, interpersonal relations and feelings of justice and security.

All these dynamic elements contribute to a certain perception of quality of life, which will have an impact on pupils’ success at school.
