Perspectives on the legal reforms and their impact on youth and family support, youth protection and juvenile criminal law

In the first phase of the project, the current legislative reform processes (legislative drafts 7991, 7992 and 7994) will be taken as an opportunity to follow the development of the legislative reforms from a socio-pedagogical and socio-structural perspective and to investigate the changes and effects on the various authorities, organisations and functionaries involved.

Methodologically, qualitative, semi-structured interviews are conducted with leading representatives from the concerned areas. The resulting findings are supplemented by the perspectives of professionals from the various sectors. To this end, the OEJQS will organise exchange formats adapted to the reform process.

The aim is to systematically monitor the ongoing transformation processes at various levels and to capture them through data collected at selective points in time.

This endeavour is all the more important in order to make statements about what is changing in the way the children and young people concerned are being taken care of in their daily life, what needs are emerging and how these can be addressed.
