Focussing on territorial disparities in non-formal education
OEJQS joined the 24th ESPANET Annual Conference at ISEG, University of Lisbon, from August 26 to 28, 2026.
Sabrina Göbel, Iryna Kyzyma and Danielle Schronen presented: “Mapping Inequality: Territorial Disparities in Non-Formal Education in Luxembourg”
The study investigated a key question regarding the provision of non-formal education in Luxembourg as a public service mission: has the expansion of non-formal education provision been distributed evenly across territories and population groups?
By linking the spatial distribution and capacity of childcare provision with local demographic and socio-economic characteristics, the study examined territorial differences in the provision of non-formal education, their association with the demographic and socio-economic profiles of municipalities, and the extent to which these differences may imply unequal opportunities for access.
